Boot Stripe Color

Post by Tony Betz »

It appears I have finally found and purchased, after many disapointments and a lot of travel, a beautiful, sound 1981 CD33. Initial survey favorable, waiting to resolve a couple of issues. It will be necessary to paint a boot stripe (and sand and paint the bottom as well of course) - is there a traditional factory color? I have observed a crimson stripe on two other boats (this would look well against grey VC Offshore).
Suggestions and advice would be greatly appreciated, Tony Betz

The boottop on my CD22D is definitely brown, but I'm repainting it navy blue.

Tony what number is your hull. I have hull number 9. The boot stripe is interlux brightside dark dado brown but this shade is discontinued.
You can match your boot stripe with the same shade as your canvas.
congrats on your purchase you made a good choice.

Hi Tony, Congrats on your CD33. I purchased the 1979 CD30 I e-mailed you about a couple of weeks ago.It is in excellent condition. It has all the original CD manuals including an original sales brochure, the CD manual says the stripe is Gloucester Seminole Red #598. Hope this helps. JD JOhnson
