CD25 - Important correction about maststep brace info

Post by JimL »

Please check my website again. As Mr. Kaplan mentioned....it takes practice to get oriented with a fiberoptic scope. Here is the correct info.

The box section above the plate is open on the ends (though the port side of mine is blocked with the brown putty). I also took a look ahead of the brace and found that the area between the brace and rear of forward hatch opening is hollow. I can clearly see the self tapping screws holding the hatch hinges. There is no balsa core in this area (the screws aren't that long....I've had them out....and there's plenty showing underneath). At this point, I think I've got mine pretty well figured out. I'm tied up working the pit crew for the Long Beach Grand Prix, so I won't be able to poke around in there for about 2 weeks. Watch for a post when more info becomes available.

Jim, I have removed the headliner from Linda Lou(CD25)from where the aft bulkhead was to within an inch of the forward hatch. I plan to fair the surface and paint it later. In the mean time, I could supply you with dimensions of the raised area or possibly a photo. Let me know if I can help. Greg Phillips,CD25 Linda Lou,Apalachicola,FL
