There is a frame of boards behind the seatbacks of the setees on my 25D. These boards are made to swing up and be attached to the roof to give more room for sleeping. They were removed from the boat when I bought it but I was wondering if they are necessary for anything in particular. I was thinking of turning them into shelves with the help of a table saw.
Thanks,
Bob

Good Morning Bob
Those board certainly make sitting on the settes much more comfortable. But on the otherhand, there are boats out there that dont have them and use pillows for "back rest".
I dont think That I would be destroying them. Maybe take them out and use other wood for your shelves! That way you could at least put the originals back in place should you decide to sell. People like things in the original condition (IMHO).

I took mine out because, for me at 6'4", the settees were very uncomfortable. COQUINA's cushions tuck snugly under the shelf and the cabin is much roomier without the backboards.I agree about not destroying them -- all original is best to sell.
