The red power-on indicator light went out on the electrical distribution panel on my '79 CD 28. I figured there would be a bayonet-based bulb in there that could easily be replaced. In attempting to take the thing apart to replace the bulb, I ultimately broke the plastic housing. It appears to be a sealed unit that would have to be replaced in toto. On the outside of the plastic case it reads "SoLiCo 14V Mexico." I imagine the odds of finding an exact replacement would be slim. Have any of you folks had any experience replacing this light?

Re: electrical distribution panel light
Actually it is not a big deal to replace the indicator light on both the AC and DC panels. Any decent chandelry or electronic store has them. Be sure to get the right light for the right current. You may have to settle for a light color other than red.Robert wrote: The red power-on indicator light went out on the electrical distribution panel on my '79 CD 28. Radio Shack has them as well as West Marine. I imagine Boats would have them also.

I replaced the light with a red LED (20 mA) from Radio Shack. Works fine. Fits the existing hole perfectly.

I just went through the same search. go into www.solico.com web site. They make the replacement lights for 1/2" panel mount, both 12v and 120v.The web site has a dealer list.
