Gooseneck nylon bearing washers....
I have just been in contact with Rig Rite/Spartan Spar to see if they had any of these nylon wahers available. Well, they do, but they come in a package of 10 for $10! Do any of you need a couple? The goose neck takes four of them. I only need one or two, dropped one over the side as I was removing the boom - klutz! If you are interested, I will order the pack and send however many you want to you for a buck apiece..

Dave,
The nylon washer at the connection point of the staysail club and the deck fitting on Realization pretty much disintegrated last year. I took the remains of the washer with me to West Marine, a short walk from the marina, and asked if they had a replacement. The sales clerk said yes, took the broken washer and came back with a few. I decided which one would fit best and he gave it to me for free! Of course I was purchasing a bunch of other stuff at the time as well. Try West Marine next time.

Re: Thank you, I will....
Catherine,
Yes, a dollar apiece seems like a lot! Next time I'm at WM, I'll try them. Boy, are the people at Spartan/Rig Rite difficult to deal with. You would think I asked them to pull out their own teeth. And in a service business, go figure....

Re: Gooseneck nylon bearing washers....
Nylon washers for 3/8 hardware (I think that's what is on the gooseneck) cost less than $7 per 100.D. Stump, Hanalei wrote: I have just been in contact with Rig Rite/Spartan Spar to see if they had any of these nylon wahers available.
For less than a buck apiece, try McMaster Carr stock no. 95630A245 - these are Teflon washers, which are slicker and will last longer.

Re: Jeeze! What a hardware store! ! !
Duncan,
What a site! If they don't have it, I DON"T need it! Thanks for the info, but I think WM has just what I'm looking for....Fair Winds...

Re: Gooseneck nylon bearing washers....
Decloaking for a moment..try your local hardware store for these washers. Mine had a whole flip-top box full of different sized nylon washers..$0.35 each. I have a couple extra on the boat, in case I get fumble-fingered again (last time I dropped the winch handle, which did a perfect one point bounce on the deck, and a really clean entry into the lake..for a score of 6.8).
