need new sails for a CD 33 anyone have any tips as to what the best direction to go in is. like size and cut of jib, type of material, cut of the main etc. or perhaps a web site that might help me make a selection.

You might try Sailnet.com and their link to Air Force Sails. They have a pretty good primer on types and materials that may be of interest. I believe they now have a sale on sails in conjunction with the Annapolis Boat Show, held this weekend. Shows usually offer a good opportunity to view exactly what the manufacturers are talking about. Good luck.
