Cabinet Hinges

Post by Ken Coit »

Does anyone know a retail chain source for SOSS concealed hinges such as those used on the CD/36? I have pulled the hinges and believe them to be SOSS 100CUS4, made in Singapore. Can anyone confirm that? Tapeease has them online, but they want $8 for servicing first time buyers in addition to the $9.68 price and shipping.

Thanks,

Ken

Try Rockler (formerly The Woodworkers Store) www.rockler.com, Woodcraft www.woodcraft.com. Have used them. Also, McMaster-Carr www.mcmaster.com. They have zinc alloy/stainless under "cabinet hinges (2)". Best Hardware www.besthdw.com. They tend to be a couple $ more than what you stated above, though. Have you tried Home Depot and Lowes??? These were from my woodworking links, any woodworking specialty stores around???

Mark,

Thanks for the leads. I was at our local branch of the Woodworkers Store yesterday and they had a minimal selection; we didn't dig into the catalog. They do carry the cylinder hinges, but they seemed a bit underpowered and would require a different hole pattern.

I have since learned that our local Carolina Builders, sort of the primier source for custom builders, used to carry SOSS hinges. I will try them tomorrow.

Thanks again,

Ken
