You folks have been great answering my questions in the past. This question is fairly basic. I left my engine manuals on Zingara 1.5 hours from home and I was planning on replacing the oil and fuel filters tomorrow. Could someone save me the hassle and inform me what type of oil and fuel filter I need to purchase for the Vovlo MD7A aboard my 1978 CD 28? I have never done this before having purchased last October - anything quirky I should know about or helpful advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Re: MD7A Oil and Fuel Filter
According to the note I carry in my wallet, the fuel filter is an AC TP 858.Bill Kerkam wrote: You folks have been great answering my questions in the past. This question is fairly basic. Re: MD7A Oil and Fuel Filter
For a fuel filter try a Baldwin BF988 ,and you should have am ample supply on board just in case you get into dirty fuel-which happens in the northwest!!
I do not know the number of the Balwin oil filter as I have them on the boat. However, any reliable parts house should match one to the number you have on your present filter.
Whatever you do, stay away from the automotive type of oil filters.
They are not built as tough as ones built for heavy duty-like marine use. You will pay a little more, but it is worth the peace of mind that goes with it.
