I am going to have the cutless bearing changed on my CD25D. The instruction book shows 4 set screws at the end of the stern tube. But these are buried under a 1/2 inch of epoxy and I have no idea where to drill in to get at them. Any thoughts on how to locate the set screws? Or should I have the yard cut lines in the bearing and pull it out? If anyone has experience with this particular boat and its cutless or advice in general, I would appreciate it,

You should not have to remove the stern tube to remove the cutless bearing. Saw the bearing in half with a hacksaw blade, and pry it out. Smooth any burrs, etc. in the stern tube, coat the bearing with anti-sieze and press in. I just replaced one in my CD 28 this fall.
Good Luck,
