CD Power Boat - Windshield

I have a CD Open Sport Fisherman with a wood framed windshield that does not open. I understand that CD offered an opening windshield as an original option. Does anyone have plans/pictures on how how CD did this? Has anyone retro-fitted an opening windshied? Any suggestions on where to find a windshield that opens? A carpenter estimated $1700 to do the upgrade for the helm side of the windshield. Any and all suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Chris
