HI DAN, THE SIMPLIEST WAY I HAVE FOUND TO REMOVE OLD THRU-HULLS HAS
BEEN TO TAKE A 4 INCH GRINDER WITH A CUT-OFF DISC ON THE OUT-SIDE OF THE HULL AND GRIND-OFF THE INSIDE LIP OF THE FLANGE. IT IS SIMPLY DONE BY PLACING THE CUTTING WHEEL ON THE INSIDE LIP OF THE OPENING ON THE THRU-HULL AND GRINDING OFF THE BRONZE UNTIL THE OUTSIDE RING FALLS OFF THEN TAP THE REMAINING THRU HULL FITTING WITH A DRIFT/PIECE OF WOOD INTO THE BOAT. THIS TAKES ABOUT 5 MINUTES PER THRU-HULL.
