Plan to change existing genoa track to increase length to at least 12 feet. The aft end of the track will start about 3 feet from the stern, where the stern rail meets the deck. Plan to use twin lead genoa cars on the new track. I would like to put a turning block at the aft end of the track to give a better angle to the winch.
Has anyone installed new track on their boat? Any thoughts on bending the new track to fit the top of the toerail? What about the length? Is 12 feet long enough?
I have a concern about the clearance between the track and the lifeline stantions for the new genoa cars to run freely? What is the best way to anchor the aft end of the track so it will not pull through the toerail?
Any thoughts on twin lead genoa cars? I haven't decided yet on whether to use a car with a springloaded pin or the line adjustable car or snatch blocks or a combination.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks,
John and Nancy Martin
