Awhile back a couple folks posted a message stating they could not locate Moreys Red EP grease at NAPA. I said I would go back and get a new tube so I could post the product info.
For those who are interested in the grease and have had difficulty locating it here is the product and NAPA info you need:
Morey's Super Red Premium
Water Proof
Multi-purpose E.P. Grease
Part No. M3209
Morey's Oil Products Company
8015 Paramount Blvd.
Pico Rivera, Ca. 90660
The standard grease cartridge is white with red and black text and has a red plastic cap on one end.
NAPA info:
Part # 3209
Line: NCB
Description: Morey's
Price: $5.69
I was told any NAPA store has it available to them if it is not on their shelf. You can have it ordered by using the "line" code and the part number above. Two of my local NAPA stores have it on the shelf and one does not......go figure?
Lucas makes a grease similar to the Morey's called "Red Stringy" but it is not the same, don't get the two confused.

Re: That worked....
John,
Thank you, I had printed your message and stopped at the local NAPA store on my way home last night. Asked the clerk if I could order a NAPA part, gave him the information you supplied, and he will get it from another store about 25 miles from here so that I can have it tonight.
So, now I get to do all the thru hulls again! Have to do it this weekend as Hanalei goes in a week from tomorrow!
Thank you for your assistance Captain, I remain your most humble servant.....

Glad to hear they were cooperative. It's awful stringy stuff so it is easier and neater to work with if you remove it from the cartridge and put it in a plastic margarine container or similar with a snap on lid.D. Stump, Hanalei wrote: John,

Remember not to overtighten the seacock components. I recommend you review all the comments made in previous posts regarding the adjusting steps. The grease does the sealing. Just check each one immediately after launch and snug up a little if there is seepage and move the handle through a full arc. Double check them frequently for the next several days.
Re: That worked....
thanks for the napa data... they're going to order the grease, i'll have it in a day or two. the only difficult part was when i was trying to explain to the napa lady what i was planning to do with the morey's - she gave me that look and said "you want to grease up your WHAT?" Sometimes, i just don't think the general population understands the sailor!John R wrote:Glad to hear they were cooperative.
