Removing Ty Rudder

Has anyone removed the rudder from a Ty? I want to do some fiberglass repair.

I have not. If you do, though, please take pictures of the inside of the rudder (if you have to go that far)and post them. I'm no end of curious.

Yes. It's fairly easy. Just remove the tiller and lift the rudder up and out of the shoe and then slide it down. You'll probably have to dig a hole under the rudder to lower it enough to get the shaft completely out.
