I've bought a new main this winter for my '78 CD25...
After researching lofts and sails, I chose a loose footed main from UK (a local loft). I'm something of a novice and am unfamiliar with the set-ups needed for this sail (the loose footed part) and would like input on outhaul modifications etc.
Thanks again!

Re: loose footed mains
Steven,
I converted the main on my 33 to a loose footed one when we brought her a couple of years ago. there was no need to change anything. the outhaul was sufficient. In heavier air we just ease the main to take the pressure off in order pull in the outhaul. The bottom of the main is attached at the tack and clew the same as a shelf foot main.
