I'm in the process of trying to select a used sailboat and could use some advice. When buying a used sailboat what sort of things should I being looking at when it comes to a diseal engine?? The engine is a 1986.
I appreciate the sound advice I've gotten so far on this board.

As with any boat, have it surveyed! Now, the surveyor will not do the engine, but should know who can do this for you. If not, the yard where the boat is located will know of a good engine man to do the job.

Cost about $150.00 (without an oil analysis) but worth every penny!
