I RECENTLY PURCHASED A CAPE DORY TYPHOON 19' WEEKENDER AND THE BOAT CAME WITHOUT ANY CUSHIONS. I WOULD BE VERY GREATFUL IF ANY OF YOUR CLUB MEMBERS COULD PROVIDE ME WITH PATTERNS FOR THE V BERTH CUSHIONS AND/OR AN OWNERS MANUAL SHOWING THE INTERIOR DIMENSIONS/LAYOUT.
ALSO ANY RECOMMENDATIONS ON THE BEST TYPE/SIZE OF OUTBOARD MOTOR TO USE WITH THIS BOAT EG. LONG/SHORT SHAFT? OPTIMUM HORSEPOWER? HAS ANYONE INSTALLED A SMALL INBOARD ENGINE IN THIS BOAT?

I am sorry I cannot give you a patern for your cusions, but you could easily measure out your own with cardbord cutouts. My cushions are about 2" thick and very blue!
As for the outboard I have an Evinrude 4 horse Yachtwin which pushes the heavy little boat along well, if a bit noisily. My brother has a newer Yamaha four which is excellent. They both are the longer shaft models. I would think you would not want to go above four HP. I would suggest one with an intregal fuel tank as my hose and tank is a pain. As a result, I sail it without a motor. (Not much of a brag as HORNET is in a smaller lake at the moment.
Good luck, they are a great little boat. I wrote an article on the refit of ours which comes out in the November edition of Good Old Boat Magazine. (goodoldboat.com) I would only hope it would ease the confusion and waste of time and effort of fixing up one of these worthy material posessions.
