I have a CD27 with a whisker pole mounted on the mast, with two lower padeyes for using the pole, and one upper padeye to secure the pole when not in use.
When not in use the pole clangs around quite a bit while stored on the padeyes. I have resorted to placing a bungee cord around the mast, but that is a workaround. The bungee cord has to be removed and replaced whenever hauling, dousing or reefing the main.
Has anyone developed a way to keep the pole from clanging short of mounting on the deck or stanchions?
I do not believe deck or stanchion mounting will be desirable on this boat, but I would be still be interested in owners' experiences in this area.
Thanks for such a great site and great contributors.

Re: Whisker Pole Woes fix
Re; Bill I made two teak saddles with bronze screw eyes for lasings that I attached to the cabin top with 3M5200,this is a leakproof and rattle proof method of stowage that has weathersd two cruises to the Bahamas and 10 years of use.Bill Goldsmith wrote: I have a CD27 with a whisker pole mounted on the mast, with two lower padeyes for using the pole, and one upper padeye to secure the pole when not in use.
