Need address/phone for Autohelm

Post by Bonnie Gilmore »

I need to replace some documentation on an Autohelm handheld electronic compass, and the Guilford, CT phone number on the literature I do have seems to be outdated. My Yahoo yellow-pages search turned up nothing. Can anyone help me with phone, new location or ??? Anything to point me in the right direction. Thanks in advance.

Bonnie,

Try that internet address, also the telephone number in Nasuha, NH is: (603)881-5200. "Raymarine" is short for Raytheon Marine that bought AutoHelm a while ago.

Hope this helps....

I brought my busted Autohelm 1000 home last Sunday after a Labor Day cruise and was wondering when I might get around to getting the thing out of the canvas tote bag and sending it off for servicing. (It's been caput for more than a year.) Maybe next week, maybe when the co-captain complains about the space it's taking up. First I've got to find Raytheon's number and find out how to send it to them.

So this morning I checked this site, as I do every couple of days, and there it is: the toll-free number.

I immediately called and got the directions I needed.

How's that for serendipity? Thanks.

Autohelm 1000

Hi Mike :
I was wondering if your 'Autohelm 1000' is the older model (1980-1981) vintage like mine...Autohelm, now RayMarine (Raytheon)
told me they stopped servicing these units some years ago, and no parts are available...I repaired mine myself (see previous post) and it now works fine. You may be able to do the same, depending on your particular problem.

About 4 years ago I needed to repair an older (1981) vintage Autohelm 1000 and did a search on the web for Autohelm. That directed me to Raytheon. Within minutes I was talking to an engineer who immediately faxed me the circuit diagrams and also located a switch still in stock. I had the switch in 2 days, although with the diagrams I managed to fix the original switch (it fell apart and little springs and ball bearings were rolling around on the cabin sole).

The upshot is: they still may have a few parts rolling around at Raytheon.
