My 1985 CD 30 has a SMALL holding tank in the keel (best estimate is five gallons). The CD literature refers to a 24 holding tank under the v-berth. Right now I have no space to add a macerator to the existing tank and am thinking of putting in a holding tank as described. Has anyone else had this situation? What are the pro's and con's of a holding tank under the v-berth. Incidentally, we cruise the coast of Maine and a five gallon holding tank won't get carry us from one pumpout station to the next.

Re: CD 30 holding tank
Frank, I sent you an e-mail with my address in case you had any questions that can't be answered by looking back in the archives a couple of months ago regarding the CD30 holding tank. A few of us had extensive discussions on this subject. Run a search for the past postings.Frank Tax wrote: My 1985 CD 30 has a SMALL holding tank in the keel (best estimate is five gallons). I built a replacement tank that should last the life of the boat or beyond. I will post info or e-mail info to anyone interested in taking on the project.
Re: CD 30 holding tank
I replaced my 24 gallon water tank under my v-berth with a 24 gallon holding tank. I can give you details if you want to contact me.
