Wood components for CD-27

Post by Andy Denmark »

In rebuilding Rhiannon I found the companionway slide rails to be eroded by the use of so-called "teak cleaners" (should be renamed "teak destroyers"). By the time I sanded them down to smooth wood there was almost nothing left of them. I replaced the handrails which were similarly eroded with full length 5/4 rails but in the process used up my teak supply. In the interests of time and energy I'd like to find the outfit that can furnish ready-made teak components for the CD-27. I've seen a reference on the BBS but can't seem to locate this source. A company name, address (email?), phone number or individual would be ideal.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Catherine,

Thanks for the help. I've sent Duncan an email to see if he can help out. Your Rendezvous posting is great. Wish I could have made it but was totally burned out with sailing Annapolis-to-Bermuda race and a delivery south on returning from that. Besides Rhiannon looks terrible in her present state of (dis)repair.

Let me know what you find out about the hatch slide teak. I have the same problem (overzelous sanders and now there is not much left).
