I have an ancient flasher type Gemtronics GT-30 depth sounder in my boat,
manufactured by the Gemtronics division of the Gladding Corporation., It's
an antique and probably belongs in the Smithsonian and while it is generally
reliable it occasionally mutinies on me, and won't give depth. I'd like to
troubleshoot and get some tech information on it. However, I cannot locate
either Gemtronics or Gladding (a plate on the instrument lists these
companies as being in Hiealeah, Florida, but I can't find them there. They've
probably been gobbled up by an Asian company.) Anyone out there have a
similar flasher-type depthsounder? Since the depth alarm function works
okay, I'm certain my transducer is working properly. Here in Maine, a
depthsounder is as important as VHF. Many thanks for any help offered. --

Re: Depth Sounder
Try Miller Marine, Jacksonville, FL (904-388-3690). They refurbished the original electronics installed on our CD28, vintage early 1980's. They saved us a TON of money, by not having to buy new electronics. Hope they can help.
