The former owner of my recently acquired Typhoon told me he used a 12 volt battery for the running lights. Upon going to Radio Shack, it turns out there are all sorts of 12 volt batteries (I guess I have been living under a rock). What do informed Typhoonites use ???

He was talking the equivalent of a car battery. Usually a marine deep cycle battery available at most marine stores and battery shops.

I just purchased a "small" 12 volt marine deep cycle battery at a local marine store. It fits nicely in the compartment under the v-berth.
