The Ty Senior has an engine well, the CD22 engine hangs off the back....Also the CD22 has more teak/ash inside....

My apologies, but the previous response to your inquiry may not be accurate!
Based on my data, the CD 22 typhoon "senior" is essentially a streched typhoon 19 footer that sleeps four comfortably, and has four round ports on the cabin house versus the two that the ty-19 has.
The general appearance of the Typhoon senior and the Ty-19 are similar, and were intended to be so by the company.

It also has an outboard well under the back deck under a hatch that lifts up to operate the motor. It does not as far as I know, have an external motor mount like the Ty-19 does. The Cd-22 Typhoon Senior also has a forward hatch on the cabin roof, forward of the mast.

The CD-22 and Cd22D are different altogether. They bear no resemblance to the Typhoons. They have a wider beam and have a larger cabin house that has four opening, oval shaped ports (Cape Dory standard). The CD-22 has a gas outboard auxiliary located under the back deck. It does not have an externally mounted outboard engine unless the owner has specifically chosen to do so for their own reasons.

The interior of the CD-22 is far more comfortable that the Typhoons' with tastefull and generous use of teak and holly. A bulkhead seperates the forwad vee berth area from the salon, and four can sleep comfortably on the Cd-22 There is also a small cabinet at the bulkhead with a sink to port, and an area for a small stove to stbd.
The Cd-22D is the same boat except with a small diesel inboard auxiliary in leiu of the outboard.

The Cd-22's llok more like their larger Cape Dory siblings than the Typhoons.

But a picture is worth a thousand words. I have origonal catalogues of all three vessels that I'd be glad to send a b&w zerox to you if you send me a self-addressed stamped envelope. Just e-mail me if you are interested.

Happy hunting,

Stu Timm.
