I have a Sealand portable head, maybe 15 years or so old, works great except the freshwater tank cap is cracked so I can't fill the tank. The cap itself is marked Thetford, it's a 3" dia with a very coarse thread (non-compatible with PVC plumbing fittings). I ordered a replacement cap from Sealand (via West Marine) and got something about 1-1/2" in diameter. I called Thetford and they didn't recognize the part number. The service rep didn't have any idea why their cap would be on a Sealand product.
Does anyone have any knowledge of Sealand portable heads from mid-80s? Did Thetford private label for Sealand? I would prefer to buy what looks like a $5.00 part rather than buy a new head at $70 plus shipping.
