I posted some questions awhile back about removing the bow roller from my 28. I decided to try Duncan's remedy (pun intended ;-] ) I drilled a series of increasing size holes in the center of the end of the shaft until I could tap it for a 10 24 screw. I passed the 10 24 screw through a metal plate with a nut on the outside of the plate. When I turned the nut, it extracted the shaft as pretty as could be. I used some spacers to extend the pull until the shaft was free. Now I've sanded it all nice and neat and ready to finish. I saw a really neat gold colored bow roller at West Marine, that should set off the new wood finish just great.
You guys are the best. Thanks to all of you for your replies.
