Any suggestions for replacing the original head in my 1974 CD25? I need to convert from a direct flush to porta-potty. Thanks.

When we bought our 1980 CD25 it came with a broken Sears brand porta potti that was fitted for a deck pumpout. We are replacing it with a Thetford Aquamate 875 MSD porta potti. The Thetford is convertible. It can be used as a conventional porta potti with a 6 gal removable tank or it can be fitted for deck pumpout. There is only one discharge opening and you need to change the discharge tube so it can't be set up for both methods of discharge at the same time, but it looks like the changeover should only take a few minutes.
The Thetford fits within the available width but it is an inch or two too deep for the mounting platform. We plan to build out the mounting platform to fit the front edge of the toilet. It will stick out an inch or two into the aisle space but the arrangement should be workable. We ordered the Thetford from Boat US.
Since we have rest rooms at our marina we will use it as a conventional porta potti most of the time and take the tank off to dump it. But if we plan to cruise where the pumpout would be more convenient, we'll hook up the deck fitting (the deck fitting is actually in the side wall of the cabin above the toilet).
Now if I can just figure a way to squeeze my 6' tall 200# body into that tiny space. I guess if I get desperate enough I'll find a way...
