1981 Typhoon Weekender Number 1792 For Sale
As little as I want to sell her I’m 74y/o and it’s getting a bit much for me to sail and expensive to keep her in a slip for the number of times I can get out. The boat is in the water in a lake near Charlotte NC now.
The Good
• I am only the second owner and I have her original Cape Dory papers.
• Though I don’t have a trailer I have a cradle that can be used on a flatbed trailer if you want to move her from the lake.
• I replaced the original Cape Dory sails with three Shore brand sails that are in pretty good condition:
o A heavy weight 105 main
o A heavy weight 105 working jib
o A light weight 150 Genoa jib
• I’ve rigged her with a boom vang and a main swivel cam cleat
• I’ve replaces all the standing and running lines and sail covers in the last four years.
• She has a 1982 4 hp Evinrude outboard motor that I have rebuilt the fuel pump and carburetor on in the last two years. It runs well.
• I bottom painted her in 2023 (see pictures)
The Not So Good (but what can you expect for a 44 y/o boat)
• She has gelcoat blisters below the water line and has almost for 20 years.
• There is some gelcoat crazing in various places on the deck.
