Old Spartan Seacocks - Do they have any value?

Post by keneasley »

3 smaller Spartan seacocks (for 3/4" ID hose). 1 is in good shape and did not leak.
1 larger Spartan seacock (for 1 1/2" ID hose might be usable, not sure if it or the mounting bolts caused a very slight leak or it was the seacock itself.
I had lapped these to try and keep them working but gave up and replaced them with Groco.
All are bronze and have the Spartan handles. They are from 1979.

Do these have any value?
I'm thinking of maybe saving the handles and bringing the rest to my town recycling center - scrap metal.

If anyone has any interest then please let me know they're in Fairfield, CT

You would think they would. But I have not found that not to be the case with anything surplus. Someone will take them if you give them to them and they don't have to pay shipping. Try the Cape Dory Facebook page or Sailnet. They get a lot of more traffic. My local recycle place is where I sent all of my MD7A parts that I though someone would love to have. Muffler, starter, alternator, transmission and so on all went for scrap.

Try taking them to the Marine Consignment store in Mystic.
