CD 25 Restoration
I've recently purchased Wild Wind, a '74 CD25 (sail no. 168). It's in fair condition. I'd like to have some suggestions on restoring the wood and deck. Has anyone ever heard of Skelley, a sail cover company? I like the main sail cover and would like to purchase another. Any part catalogues that I could order? Does anyone know anything about this boat? It's been in the Charlotte NC area for the past couple of years, but I believe it originally came from the Annapolis area.

YOUR BOAT WAS A CARL ALBERG DESIGN A VERY WELL KNOWN AND RESPECTED NAVAL ARC. ALSO OVER THE YEARS I HAVE BASICALLY REBUILT MY BOAT NEW PORT LIGHT BOTTOM TEAC.I AM AT WORK AT THE PRESENT TIME. I HAVE MUCH MORE INFORMATION AT HOME. PLEAS E MAIL ME IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO CORRESPND ABOUT YOU BOAT.THERE ARE MANY PLACES IN NEW ENGLAND BECAUSE THAT IS WHERE THE CAPE DORY WAS ORIGINALLY BUILT TAUTON MASS.
IF YOU SEARCH THIS WEB SIGHT OF THE CAPE DORY ASSOC OF CALIFORNIA YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO FIND OUT ABOUT ANY THING ABOUT THE BOAT EVEN THE ORIGINAL TEMPLATES FOR THE TEAC.

Correction Re: CD 25 Restoration
If your 25 has an outboard, it was actually designed by Stadel, not Alberg. It was originaly built as the Greenwich 24 and then later modified (see about Cape Dory Boats on this site) . I've spent the last year+ restoring my 25 an would be happy to answer any questions.AL ASOLINT wrote:HI DAVE,David Hodos wrote: I've recently purchased Wild Wind, a '74 CD25 (sail no. 168). First use the search field of this site to find restoration tips. It's very hepful. Just type in "Teak" and you'll get more info than you could ever imagine. Congratulations on your 25!
Good luck and may the wind not always be at your back.

Re: Correction Re: CD 25 Restoration
Have a 1975 CD25. Installed holding tank for head. Previous owner installed a diesel inboard. But in an Origo stove. Question to JON: where did that table come from?

Factory Stuff
Question to JON: where did that table come from?
I believe the table on Sovereign is a Cape Dory factory part that came with the boat. I've seen other 25s with the same one. The ice maker and Jacuzzi are stock too

Re: Factory Stuff
I have the same table on my 1975 25. Jon is right, it looks like a factory part. It matches the other interior finishes exactly.
