Single Burner Sea Stove
I came across a thread on the WoodenBoat Forum called "Making a gimballed stove" ( http://forum.woodenboat.com/showthread. ... lled-stove )
The Jetboil Halfgen propane stove was used for the project. It's large 9" stove top has a 10,000 BTU burner that can boil a quart in a few minutes or be turned down to a lazy simmer.
My construction is not an exact copy, but it rhymes.
The stove is fully gimbled both athwartships and fore-to-aft.
6mm thrust bearings reduce friction between 9" and 10" stainless cake rings.
The 9" form factor is suitable for most pots and pans as well as an Omnia Stove Top Oven. The rods on the bottom were added to support counterweights as needed to prevent it from becoming top heavy.

That's really nice work, the bearings in particular.
A gimbled stove to use underway is a great thing to have.
I was fortunate to find a Sea Swing stove a few years ago.
My Sea Swing stove with a small alcohol burner in use.
Works well for a hot cup of tea while underway.

Re: Single Burner Sea Stove
Judging by the asking price for used Bremer Sea Swing stoves on eBay, they are prized and in high demand!
I used 8 thrust ball bearings in the construction of my stove.
They are available on Amazon for about $1 each when purchased in a package of 10 (ASIN : B082PP2FY3).
Over the years, there have been several commercial single burner sea stoves such as the Bremer Sea Swing, Force 10 Seacook and Forespar Mini Galley.
Unfortunately, there are no commercial products on the market today.

Beautifully done! I have been mulling over how to someday make a gimballed rig for a jetboil (the kind with its own integrated pot) and will definitely reference this for inspiration. Thanks for sharing.

I love my Force 10 seacook, and buy every one I can find for my friends. It is by far the most used cooking tool in my boat
