Garmin eTrex GPS

Post by Jim Stull »

I recently purchased one of the new little Garmin eTrex GPS's to keep in our "ditch" bag as a backup to our Garmin 48. It is a very nicly made unit at a good price. $119 - a $10 coupon from Boats US. I have been wandering around the back 40 in an attempt to see how close I could get back to a Marked waypoint. Last week it averaged out to about 140 ft. Yesterday I could get to within about 35 feet. Super!

The civilian degradition of the GPS signals really did affect accuracy, didnt it??? The degradition was turned off Monday nite, fyi. See earlier thread.
