Cruise 2000 -- Gunkholing on the Eastern Shore

Post by Catherine Monaghan »

The CDSOA will hold its Fourth Annual Chesapeake Bay Cruise from Saturday, May 27, 2000 to Friday, June 2, 2000. The theme this year is gunkholing on the Eastern Shore.

The fleet will be visiting Cambridge, Oxford, Easton, and St. Michaels (<a href="http://www.toolworks.com/cdsoa/MDrendez ... ml">cruise schedule</a>). We'll first gather in Cambridge for an informal meal at Snapper's (free dockage while dining). The Municipal Yacht Basin (410-228-4031) and the Cambridge Yacht Club (410-228-2141) have slips or you can anchor or tie-up alongside the bulkhead on Cambridge Creek. For the rest of the week we'll be cruising the Choptank and Tred Avon Rivers and rafting up in some of the loveliest anchorages on the Chesapeake. We'll do our best to find berths for members living too far away to sail (first come, first served). The cruise will end at the Knapps Narrows Marina with a pool-side buffet and the awards for notable achievements in navigation, heroic seamanship, or other dubious feats of folly as noted by our anonymous awards committee. A head count will be needed by April 30th along with $25 per sailor if attending the dinner and a $20 deposit if reserving a slip -- checks payable to CDSOA.
