My radar died last fall and it was not repairable by either Garmin or an independent shop. I was unable to find another Garmin radar, either new, used or refurbished that was compatible with my GPSMap 3006c. Really loved the unit but not wanting to be cruising Maine without radar I bit the bullet for a new Garmin system. Considered keeping the 3006c as a stand alone backup unit but just didn't have enough real estate at the helm for the new chartplotter (Garmin 942sx) and the old.
Asking $250 (including shipping up to $20) for the 3006c which is preloaded with charts of the Maine coast and the Chesapeake. A real benefit for anyone contemplating its use in Maine (at least in my mind) is that it is also loaded with 600+ waypoints and about 50 routes for the Maine coast, mostly between Boothbay Harbor and Bar Harbor. The data was built up over 30+ years of chartering and cruising. It comes with the power cable, GPS antenna and antenna cable. The screen is very readable in bright light. I don't have the gimbal mount although it would not be hard to fashion one. Templates are still available on line for flush mounting.
