Winter Cover

Post by camroll »

This fall I made a new winter cover for Nutmeg. It is a frameless cover as I didn't want to have to deal with carting a frame back and forth to Vermont. It drapes over the boom which I braced with a couple of preventers. The forward section uses the whisker pole as a joist. The fabric is called Surlast and is available from Sailrite. It is pretty waterproof but it does breath. Plus I left openings on both ends to allow for ventilation. It has zippers up both sides of the mast to connect the front and rear sections and is slit to go around the stantions and stays. This is the first time I've used this design so we'll see in the spring how it works out.
