....In Search Of....Traditional Rope-work Bow Fender

Post by wsonntag »

All:

Please, I'm looking for a source of traditional rope-work, specifically a bow fender for my CD 10. I've email "Get Knotted" in the UK a couple of times with no joy. Wonder if anyone as a lead on a vendor? Stateside would be nice based on shipping costs, not requirement though.

Thanks very much in advance,

Bill, I googled 'traditional rope bow fender' and Page 2 has a number of US/Australian/English providers.

If spring wasn't so tantalizingly close, you could attempt " http://www.instructables.com/id/boat-fender-diy/ ".
Perhaps next winter. Good luck.

Bill
Get a hold of Barbara Merry at http://www.marlinspikeartist.com she's in Wakefield RI. She has a couple different designs.
I bought a couple rope fenders from her a few years back at the Maine Boatbuilders Show. They are still going strong and look great.
She does very nice work that's a lost art!
I hope she has what your looking for.
