Air conditioning for Cape Dory 33
Planning to install built in a/c on my CD 33. Any installation photos out There? 12K to 16k, 2 little, 2 large? Great Lakes now, Florida soon. Would appreciate any feedback..,

I added A/C to my 33 years ago. If I had to do it again, I would just use a hatch mounted system. Nevertheless, I'm happy with how it turned out. After moving out of Florida I really don't use it anymore except on exceptionally hot days. I'll have to check but I think it is a 12k BTU system (it might be 16k). It can easily run off a Honda EU2000 generator though I've only done that to see if it would work. I don't like the noise at anchor so we just use a windscoop. The unit is in the locker abeam of the head. I have 2 exhaust ports- one in the salon and one in the v-berth and it works well. I've seen no need for any additional ports. I added the return to the locker door.
