Belaying Pins

I purchased a 1978 Cape Dory 28 in December and have sailed a few times this winter when conditions were reasonable on the Strait of Juan de Fuca. One thing I noticed right away was the lack of good line management. My first step was to add belaying pins on the starboard side to manage the halyards. One other item I noticed was that with the volvo penta running, I couldn't hear the VHF located inside the cabin. This was my solution. I still need a clip for the mic of the main VHF so I can mount it instead of the portable unit. I'll figure out a solution soon. The backing plate is actually bamboo flooring and the crosspiece teak. The pins are made from oak dowels. I don't have a lathe, so I carved the pins by hand and belt sander. Next, I'll work on management of the jib furling line.

Nice job! Neat solution without resorting to to G10 and stainless steel.
