Does anyone know how to remove the bronze cap that's on top of the tiller post? I've removed both bolts but there's no budge. I'm trying to pull the piece of wood trim off to refinish it.

Maybe try some heat and gentle persuasion? I tried removing mine once but it was stuck as well. I didn't need to remove it so I left it. Should be some kind of keyway so don't lose the key.
