Inflatable and Hard Dinghy For Sale/ Conn. Shoreline

Post by jim ventrilio »

I sold my Typhoon and no longer need either of the dinks I used to get to my mooring.

Zodiac Zoom. Purchased new in 2011. Used for five seasons, then stored, rolled up in the storage bag in my garage.
7' 7" long, 4' 5" beam. Rollup slat floor. 57lbs. Everything's there, seat, oars, storage bag and repair kit, foot pump. Boat is in good-excellent condition. I always treated it with 303 protectant. Will take up to a 4 HP outboard. Asking $350. Current model sells for between $500 - $600 depending on retailer. This one is light enough to heft on your shoulder.

8 Foot Seahawk fiberglass dinghy. I believe Seahawk was a small power boat manufacturer on Long Island that went under in the late 1980s or early 1990s. This is a 1982, but is in good condition. Bought it last year and cleaned it up, painted the bottom gray and the interior white with two coats of BligeKote. Towed easily and very happily behind my Typhoon and rowed very well. The bow is cut away so it moves through the water easily, and it has a skeg stern to help it track straight. Estimate the weight as 75-80 lbs. Have a set of 5 1/2 ft. wooden oars for it. Also have a set of new Garelick dinghy wheels for the transom. These will come in handy if you're a solo sailor as I was and needed to get the dinghy into the water from a dinghy rack, for example. The dinghy is now in my backyard and has been cleaned up. I may add another layer of BilgeKote to the interior since I have some paint left. I also made a new wooden motor mount for the transom from three layers of marine-grade plywood. Price: with Garelick wheels $375.00, w/o wheels $325.00

Also have a 3 HP air-cooled Tanaka outboard for sale. Sears used to sell these as a Gamefisher. Weights about 22 pounds and would easily move either of the above boats. These are out of production, so parts aren't available unless you can find another one. I paid a guy too much for it, so I'm asking $150. If you're interested in one of the boats and the engine as a package, I'm willing to negotiate.

Everything is at my house in Guilford, Conn., about 15 minutes east of New Haven.
