Attention Long Island Typhooners

Post by Stu »

Hello everyone.

I trust the winter has been kind to you all, but Spring's just around the corner and the waters in and around the Long Island Sound have finally thawed. I am a Long Island (north shore) resident and currently sail a Laser-1 out of Centerport. I have been thinking long and hard about getting a Typhoon Weekender, (my tendency to procrastinate things to death not withstanding!).

Is there anyone out there who would be willing to share an afternoon (or morning)with me out on their Typhoon. I really want to get a feel for these boats and how they perform, especially in the fluky, light airs of the LI Sound.

I have sailing experience (Lasers don't forgive mistakes to easily) and have had crewing time before on a J-24, Frers 35, and a Hunter 40.

So if anyone will be in the water this Spring with their Typhoon and has room for a guest, I would be grateful.

My thanks for your kind consideration and time.

Stu
