Many thanks and congratulations to Leo and Catherine for all their hard work in getting the NE Fleet organized. Terrific job!

Re: Northeast Fleet -- CDSOA
In the second paragraph of the original post I mistakenly referred to our new fleet as the "The Northeast Cape Dory Owner's Association". Oops! It should read "The Northeast Fleet of the Cape Dory Sailboat Owners' Association."
I think I've got it right this time -- let's hope so anyway.

Wish you luck, but checking my charts, the northeast runs from around Block Island to the Canadian border. There are lots of us on this side of the Cape Cod Canal. I suppose we'll be ok fending for ourselves.

I'm sorry if you got the wrong impression. Our group will gladly welcome Bostonians, New Hampshire-ites, Vermonters, and DownEasters.
However, Leo's house was in Eastern CT, so the people there tended to be from south of the Cape.
Best Wishes, and I hope you'll join us.

Re: HEAR YE!! A NEW NORTHEAST FLEET HAS FORMED!!
Neil,
There's quite a sailing distance between Raritan and Buzzards Bays, and for those of us at the extreme ends, it will be difficult to get to rendezvous in those areas except by car (that's no fun), but no one is excluded. You are very welcome to join us. Have you thought of forming a Fleet up in your neck of the woods? And, right now, as I write this there is another fleet attempting to form in North Carolina! It will also be associated with the CDSOA.

Re: HEAR YE!! A NEW NORTHEAST FLEET HAS FORMED!!
Is there any thought to a web site for the new organization, perhaps a sublink on CCDOA's great site that we have all come to enjoy and depend on?
Do hope that Buzzards Bay can be a frequent focal point as that would be close enough for those of us north of the Cape Cod Canal to participate like last year.

Onset postponed until 2001
Neil, Bob and others who joined us in Onset last summer,
Last years event was a great time and one I am hoping to pull together again. Unfortunately, my family is growing in a few weeks and I will not be able to dedicate the time that such an event requires - and deserves. I would be more than happy to pass all the information I gathered to anyone interested in putting something together around Cape Cod.
Lets pencil something in for late July 2001.
I hope that those of you who made it to Onset last summer have been able to maintain the friendships we all established. In the meantime, I am looking forward to participating in, and supporting where I can, the event which Catherine and Leo are putting together. Best of luck to them both!
See you all on the water,
Chris

Re: HEAR YE!! A NEW NORTHEAST FLEET HAS FORMED!!
Neil, Yes in fact the "northeast" also includes from Block Island to the Canadian border. And you are invited to join us. The NE fleet is open to CD'ers from NJ to ME etc, etc.

I cannot praise Walt and what his web site has done for the 'CD world' enough. This is where I found out about Onset-99, about the CDSOA, and how we formed the NE Fleet.
This is THE SITE that we all will continue to use , with a heart felt thank you to Walt and the CCDO.

Re: CCDO is 'Thee Website'
I think the NE fleet is a good idea, plan to be as active as I can, and was sorry to miss the seminal meeting, But a THOUSAND TIMES NO! to splintering the CCDOA website. It's clearly the best thing that's happened to the web.

Re: CCDOA and CDSOA websites
Everyone,
As Leo pointed out, this CCDOA web site is the definitive web site for Cape Dory information as well as "the" place to meet and exchange ideas regarding our CDs. The NE Fleet will not host their own web site. But, the CDSOA's web site, which is currently only a single page, will be expanded to include Fleet information. The CDSOA and its fleets will continue to utilize this wonderful resource.
