CDSOA has Merged!
I'm pleased to announce that our beloved Cape Dory Sailboat Association has gotten larger, stronger, and now has an even louder voice, with the merger of CDSOA with the North American Association of Jet Ski Enthusiasts.
For years I've watched them circle LIQUIDITY, in an obvious show of admiration. Quite often, they'd offer to share their libations, hoisting their brew high in the air, an obvious invitation to explore the synergies of our respective organizations. Well, this Commodore has taken the bait!
There will be a few changes, of course, only fair since there are ten times as many of them as there are of us.
Stay tuned for more details.

But we've just arranged a acquisition by the Chinese Navy! By utilizing our distributed C3I network and fuel efficient operational base, we are to become the vanguard of Sino-presence in the western hemisphere...
Your red star and sickle CCDSOA burgees will be arriving soon.
You may then begin relentlessly plundering all of the ocean's wealth within 2000 km of shore, domineering smaller island nations, and ignoring all international agreements.
Thank you, many Comrades

Well, it's not as bad as I feared! I thought you were going to say that the CDSOA was giving "the bomb" to Iran in attempt to prevent an arms race in the Middle East.
Thank you for your continuing best efforts Neil!

That's ridiculous, jet skis don't have tillers and they can't lock their "props"(?).

To make them feel welcome, I will be selling exhaust modification kits to make our Cape Dories sound exactly like jet skis!

As part of the deal, we can keep our props, but tillers and wheels will be replaced with handlebars.tjr818 wrote:That's ridiculous, jet skis don't have tillers and they can't lock their "props"(?).

Ownership isn't required. "Enthusiast" is sufficient.Joe Myerson wrote:We are also extending membership privileges to all Sea Ray owners!
Oh, and because they don't have tillers and don't ever lock their props, they get a discount on dues (unless they also own a jet ski, in which case it's still full price).

In honor of this new association i will be modifying my Yanmar to boost the exhaust noise at least 20 decibels, who's with me?

Re: CDSOA has Merged!
Phew! For a minute I thought we might merge with the America's Cup organization and be forced to spend a gazillion dollars "upgrading" our boats with airplane wings and junking our sails! Also, we'd have to modify our instrumentation on board to show altitude of the hull(s) above the seas surface rather than the depth of water beneath.
