Cape Dory 31 Hull ID Number

Does anyone know if the Cape Dory 31 has a second Hull ID Number inside the boat somewhere?

Only HIN I am aware of on mine is on the transom.

Pat, my 1981 CD33 has the usual hull number on the transom, but when I first bought the boat I also found in one of the bottom lockers in the V berth, a 2-ft. x 3" piece of board that also had a long number. I had wondered what that could be until I realized the numbers were the same as those in the transom. Maybe somewhere inside your boat there may be something similar..

Rhapsody has a second Nr. in her starboard locker. According to the USCG there should be another Nr. Some where.

Our 26 has the HIN written/painted on hull inside the port cockpit locker if that helps. About 2-3 inch tall lettering.

Sure these big numbers aren't USCG documentation numbers? After a long search I stumbled upon Yankee's documentation number encapsulated in resin beneath one of the CNG tanks in the lazarette, very well hidden.

That's where it is (besides on the stern) on our CD32 as well. It's up high, you have to stick your whole in there and look up to find it.
