22D Engine Access Latch Thingamabob

Post by Merilintu »

Merilintu is finally in the water for the summer, and so begins a never-ending list of to-do's:

There is a narrow wooden access panel on each side of the engine box. There's a fiddle on the
bottom of it to keep it in place, and two black plastic(dacron or nylon?) pinch latches that
are supposed to keep the panels closed by friction, but be flexible enough open when pulled.

Does anyone know what they're called and where you get them? All 4 are broken.

Thanks in advance!
Roger

Roger,
It is good to know that there is at least one other 22D owner on this board. I think there are not that many of us. I replaced those clasps with magnetic cabinet door clasps. You can purchase those at any hardware store.
