1982 Cape dory 28 sloop (repowered) for sale

Post by Trachelle 28 »

Trachelle my cape dory 28 recently traveled from Oriental north Carolina to key west Florida and back. It is repowered with a 13.5 hp beta marine diesel. Harken MK III roller furling with a 135 genoa is installed on the 20" teak bowsprit. New lewmar self tailing winches for headsail.  A wind pilot wind vane (self steering unit) is installed on the stern which works beautifully inshore or off. It can be included in the purchase if the buyer wants it. Interior is full teak in excellent condition. the head and holding tank have been removed. If they are desired I still have them both. No issues the hoses needed replacement and I decided to use a portable toilet for my cruise instead. A small soft spot on the bow port side should be repaired. All interior and exterior lighting is LED. Origo denatured alcohol stove in the galley. Keel cooler thru hull for recently installed indel webasto (isotherm) refrigeration unit. A survey done in 2007 is available. Standing rigging in excellent shape and running in moderate shape. Full canvas enclosure and framing  for cockpit along with other miscellaneous desirable aspects for a cruising yacht. Everything fully functional.

12 aluminum deisel tank
Twin 30 gallon polypropylene water tanks

Asking price: 22,500 USD (Will entertain reasonable offers)

Bump, with explanation.

My son posted this ad in 2013. He'd just reached an agreement to purchase a larger boat and posted this ad for his CD28. Long story short, the deal on the larger boat fell through and he kept this boat.

He's recently purchased, paid for and is in possession of a Baba 30 so this CD28 is again on the market. Note he's made a few changes since the original ad was posted:

Added:
3 solar panels, 65 watts each.
C-head composting toilet.
The wind vane is now included in the asking price.

Removed:
The self tailing winches have been replaced with the original winches.

This is a later model CD28 (hull 313) with the teak interior. Her interior is beautiful up close and personal, the exterior is beautiful too - from 30 feet. Her brightwork needs fresh elbow grease and varnish and her deck gelcoat has repaired cracks that would appreciate a new coat of non-skid. The boat is in Oriental NC (aka paradise), in the water, has a clean bottom and is ready to sail away. Delivery to locations on the mid Atlantic US east coast could be negotiated.

PRICE REDUCED to $17,900.

Austin is motivated to sell expeditiously. Needs to focus time, energy and boat units outfitting his new Baba 30 so he and his charming lady can depart south this winter!

Potentially interested parties should contact him now before Yachworld listing goes up.
