I bought this boat in 1991 for 49,000 when the more plain and less equipped cd 30C ‘s were about 34,000.
This boat is a US Documented vessel with the USCG.
I never regretted purchasing this boat- it was simply worth it.
It has all Lewmar bronze winches including two-speed self- tailing jib sheet winches.
Bronzew cleats amidships and all bronze hardware including the nut for the Edson Teak Wheel- a $1000 add on even today.
It comes with nine opening port lights with bronze screens
It is a pristine Cutter Rigged Cape Dory. One of two boat show prototypes in 1984. It is equipped with a Universal M18 Diesel Engine that burns 1/3 gal per hour. The engine is cooled with a heat exchanger (no sea water reaches the engine) It also has a Balmar High out put alternator ( $900 add-on)
There is a hot and cold water pressurized system and a hot water heater. It is equipped with a Adler Barbour refrigerator/freezer, a real plus if you have never had one. The Dickenson solid fuel fire place keeps you warm at sail and at anchor.
The head area has a stainless steel wash basin, Groco Head and a hanging locker.
The boat is equipped with a compressed natural gas gimbaled range and oven. CNG is carried in 2 small tanks similar to scuba tanks that lasted me in excess of 2 years. This is a very safe system in that CNG is lighter than air.
Includes a Garmin GPS with built in map. Auto helm ST4000 autopilot and an ICOM VHA radio. The Edson teakwhee lis surrounded with a Raytheon multi function gauge-speed log and water temperature as well as a Ritchie binnacle compass. All bronze hardware. Lewmar bronze 2 speed self tailing winches. The boat includes Cape Dory curtains. Nicro-fico ventilators, Hemlock tweed Sail covers, Island nautical dodger and companion way cover. 2 Bomar hatches and a custom Campbell Sailor Propeller that provides lots of thrust forward and backwards and increased cruising speed.
The main sail, staysail and Yankee are all Ulmer Kolius with reef points with a lazy jack system. Dock lines and fenders are included as well as a REAL Danforth anchor with 150 feet of line. Teak swing up chair behind the wheel.
Original cradle is included.
Theis boat has not been in the water for 3 years. It has a fresh coat of bottom paint.
The hull gelcoat is in great condition and buffed and waxed each year.
The teak 8-9 out of 10
The deck is in good shape with Tread master through the stay area.
The engine has been run annually several times and runs well
The transmission was replaced 4 years ago with a new Hurst OE transmission and aligned twice following installation.
The fuel pump was replaced at that time as were all easily accessible gaskets, oil pan etc.
