Finally installed the new bronze external chainplates and stepped the mast. Can't wait to take her out for a trial run.

Absolutely beautiful. I have always been of the opinion that is where they should be. What did you do on the interior for backing in the areas? If have pics of that somewhere, I would love to see.

And here's what my chainplates looked like before the retrofit. OMG. A past owner decided it was a good idea to secure the rapidly decomposing backing plates with a door hinge and eye hooks from home depot.
