Magma Grill Part Held Captive!

Post by bottomscraper »

The rail mount for Magma grills have a flat bar nut that clamps the mount to the rail. There is nothing to keep this part attached to the grill and like all boat parts it wants to sacrifice itself to King Neptune. This minor modification keeps this part attached. Now if King Neptune wants to claim it he has to take the whole grill!

I drilled a hole in the end of the rod using a #25 drill bit and used a 10-24 tap to thread the hole. I added a short 10-24 screw, lock washer and flat washer.

I like it! I always worried about that myself. Will do it to mine before I bring the grill on board.

Now off to finish the spring chores before launch tomorrow.
