The previous owner of my Ty DS had done a poor job varnishing the woodwork (I think he used a roller). I stripped and replaced the teak my first year, but was left with many varnish drips and smears, as well as a number of cracks, and gouges. Last winter I decided that repainting the interior would be a nice spring project. What seemed like a simple idea in December turned out to be a lot of work in April and May as the project expanded to include rebedding the deck hardware, and beefing up the reinforcement of the chainplates. I had a difficult time in picking the right color, but settled on Hatteras White, which while lighter than the original sand color I think looks good. The hardest part was finding 6 sunny days in which to do this in the open.

Very nice job!
It always seems that one thing leads to another and that it takes much more time and money to finish a project than ever seems possible at the beginning. I don't know which paint you used but be very careful if it was one part Interlux. The can clearly states that it is not to be used below the waterline. What it doesn't say is that if you leave something like a seat cushion sitting on the painted surface with moisture trapped under it for an extended period of time the paint will blister. I had this problem on a CD-14 I painted.
Those TY day sailors are very sweet boats, Steve.

Beautiful job. Isn't that Hatteras White a nice color? Looks like white chocolate.
